I worked with Adel during my time leading Sales & Commercial for Lenovo Middle East & Africa, where he was our FP&A partner for the region. In a market as fast-moving and complex as MEA, Adel was the finance person I wanted in the room. He knew the P&L inside out, from partner rebates and promotional spend to product mix and channel health, and he turned that knowledge into clear guidance we could act on.

What set Adel apart was how he balanced discipline with partnership. He challenged our plans with data, pushed back when the numbers did not support a move, and then worked with us to find a better path instead of just saying no. His profit tracking and scenario models became part of how we ran the region, and they made our calls on pricing, promotions, and expansion sharper.

Adel has since grown into worldwide FP&A leadership for Motorola at Lenovo, which does not surprise me at all. He combines technical depth, commercial understanding, and complete reliability. I had the pleasure of working with Adel for close to three years, throughout, he was a hard worker with commitment to quality and deadlines. He is detailed and I appreciated his agility – I seem to recall him coming up with creative ideas to handle certain situations with our client’s finance departments. I was also impressed with Adel’s handle of tools such as MS Excel and others and his ability to effectively use these tools to present complex financial information. I also relied on his quarterly reports that analyzed the data presented and reflected on past performances. Aside from work attributes, I appreciated Adel’s humility and sense of humor – I looked forward to seeing him whenever I was in the office.
